The Kansas City Chess Club held its first tournament since opening on June 1st. The tournament attracted a crowd of about 25 players as well as many parents and friends. In the rated section, Ron Luther emerged victorious with a perfect score and took home a brand new weighted chess set. Steven Rand and Andrew Latham tied for second. Rand, who had the better tiebreaks, won a free lesson with Ron Luther and Latham won a new book. The full results are below.
